Services to the Nuclear Industry

PCMS have provided Work management facilitation and training support to BNG at the Sellafield site since November 2003. This range of services has been provided via PCMS consultants who are P4 pass holders with classified worker status.

The range of services during a typical work management engagement are  as follows:
  • Work management programme communication
  • Communications strategy facilitation
  • Initial awareness and objectives brief to all respective area parties
  • Emergent work strategy and priority work definition brief to all respective area parties
  • Monthly update communication / progress sessions with respective engineering and operational management
Process Introduction
The aim of this is to:
  • Discuss elements of the implementation program
  • Establish the ‘as is’ condition with current barriers to success
  • Create a common language of Work Planning and Control
  • Establish the business drivers for improved WP&C
  • Agree Terms of reference, roles and responsibilities
  • Agree the planning cycle and meeting structure
  • Agree success criteria with Implementation Team Personnel Training in the WM process
Aims are to ensure:
  • Correct job selection based on prioritization and pre-scoping
  • Job scoping and planning is carried out.
  • Work scheduling in line with available resources
  • Schedule endorsement from all key stakeholders
  • Improved communication between Maintenance and Operations
  • Actual delivery of work
  • Review and feedback
