PCMS offers a remote, online, web-based, 24hrs x 7days, condition monitoring system that continuously monitors the health of electric motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, mills and other rotating machinery, as well as providing a number of performance indicators (e.g. percentage run-time/up-time and motor current/power usage).

Diagnostic (machinery health) indicators measured include: vibration (overall & spectral) on all bearings, bearing temperatures, motor speed, motor currents, ambient temperature and 3 'process variables' (e.g. pressure, flow, weight, etc.).

The advantage of using a web-based system is that it enables remote and secure viewing of all captured data via the Internet using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

The Online system is offered on the basis of a 6 - 60 month service contract. Clients simply pay for the installation (mainly labour and cabling) and a monthly service fee, it's that simple!

Business Model

This system enables organisations to concentrate on their core business, secure in the
knowledge that Key Critical Assets are being remotely monitored and management reports to be furbished by experienced machinery health analysts ensuring a cost-effective maintenance management solution.

Diagnostic (machinery health) indicators measured include: vibration (overall and spectral) on all bearings, bearing temperatures, motor speed, motor currents, Practice Care Delivering Quality As Standard ambient temperature and 3 'process variables' (e.g. pressure, flow, weight, etc.). Use the web-based software's advanced graphing capability to display and compare measurements across equipment (e.g. Bearing deterioration over time). The advantage of using a web-based system is that it enables remote and secure viewing of all captured data via the Internet using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

Near real-time alarms are raised on both trend and spectral data and can be escalated by our 24x7 Call Centre to all key personnel. Method of contact can be via Telephone, Email and Text messaging. Various graphical representations of equipment can be output i.e. “Run Time Hours” for easy OEE calculations. These can be furbished to managers on a daily basis for all monitored equipment.

System Layout

System architecture from the factory through to PCMS
Each machine train to be monitored has a Canary (data-acquisition hardware unit) attached to it.

The Canary units are linked to a scanner at the plant (by wire or wireless link)

• The scanner interrogates each Canary, typically every minute, uploading measured data

• The scanner wraps the accumulated data and sends it via the Internet to storage, where it is securely warehoused

• At the Central Data Centre the measurement data is intelligently filtered through a neural network to check for variations. If significant, a fault is diagnosed and alarms are raised

• Plant personnel are alerted by SMS, e-mail or telephone • Web connectivity gives immediate, continuous access to all plant data

• Graphs/Alarms/Reports/Performance Histories and other decision-support information on monitored equipment can be accessed online via the web, from anywhere, at any time

• Authority to access data can be given to plant managers, consultants, OEM’s, repairers, etc.

• Support staff at The central Control Centres are available to answer customer queries

• PCMS takes responsibility for the installation
and maintenance of the whole system, including the database

• Backup is provided for all system hardware and software
